Your Sugarist

Shortly after having my son in 2011, I decided I needed a job where I could make my own schedule and still be the mom I wanted to be. I wanted to be able to volunteer in class, go on field trips, and stay home with my babies when they are sick. It’s hard to do that with a 9-5 job. I loved the idea of learning about skin care and make up! I enrolled in Marinellos School of Beauty and graduated in 2011 with my esthetician’s license. Shortly after graduating I was introduced to Sugaring. I was so happy when I found sugaring as waxing always seemed counter intuitive. As an esthetician, you are trained to heal and preserve the skin and there I was applying this hot substance to the skin and ripping as quickly as I could in hopes to pop the hair out of the follicle. Yikes!!! So evasive and not to mention it can lift & damage skin very easily. It just felt wrong. Wax also has a ton of chemicals in it which I didn’t like either.  I was so excited to learn there was an alternative to waxing that was less evasive, 100% natural, and a lot less painful.  I was initially trained with Alexandria and received advanced training from Sweet Professionals and Tamaras Professional Sugar. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to learn.  It is truly a specialized technique and that is why there are so few sugaring spots.  I have been sugaring now for over 4 years and I love it!  I have a group of absolutely wonderful clients. The core of my business is sugaring the bikini area (brazillian). This is a VERY personal thing. As a client, you are in a very vulnerable position. I pride myself on the ability to make my clients feel super comfortable and naturally we become close. I know all about them, their families and what is going on in their lives and they know all about me and my crazy life as a mom!   They have stuck with me through many changes over the years including the birth of my daughter Violet. For the last 4 1/2 years I had been working for someone else and when she decided to move her business to Westlake, I decided it was time to branch out on my own so I open Pure Sugar 805. The response has been amazing. Everyone has been super encouraging and helpful with the transition.  I am so grateful that I can take care of my wonderful clients and be the mom I want to be! I love that sugaring is becoming more well known and I believe that it will eventually be the mainstream form of hair removal. If you have not tried Sugaring yet, please come see me… I promise you wont be sorry!
